Jean Pierre Pellissier is a cinematographer and director from Cape Town, South Africa based in Hamburg, Germany. Having worked his way up through the industry, including several years full-time at a production company, he’s gained hands-on experience across a wide range of productions, genres, and crew sizes.

His work has taken him around the globe—from the icy reaches of northern Scandinavia and the peaks of the Alps to the sun-scorched deserts of Morocco—giving him a broad, international perspective on filmmaking. Along the way, he’s built a close-knit network of creatives he genuinely loves collaborating with (and would gladly take on the next wild adventure).

He gravitates toward projects that explore human nature, soft emotion, and just the right dose of adrenaline. Growing up skating around Cape Town gave him an early connection to the world’s beauty, chaos, and wonder—and he’s been chasing that feeling ever since.

A definite career highlight has been directing the branded documentary series with REBEL Productions GmbH, capturing Audi’s historic victory at the 23/24 Dakar Rally—the first time an electric car has ever won the race.

From commercials, music videos, and documentary films to social-narrative photography series, 16mm experiments through Eastern Europe and Chernobyl, and an upcoming fictional narrative (coming circa late '25), he’s drawn to bold, varied storytelling in all its forms. Some brands he's worked with include Audi, Deichmann, REWE, and Cupra to name a few.

In a nutshell: he’s all about good people, great stories, and diving headfirst into the magic of making films.
